A GPS/GSM jammer, often used by car thieves, usually works excellently, preventing a stolen vehicle from being tracked. However, it proves ineffective when the vehicle is equipped with radio monitoring. Together with the police on site, we found not only the sought-after Audi but also other dismantled vehicle, probably stolen. The GPS/GSM jammer was still active in the Q7, yet the GanTrack system allowed for the precise location of the car.
Determination in tracking a vehicle that falls pray to thieves, is just as important as the techniques used and the technology utilized. This is evidenced by the search for an Audi Q7 that “disappeared” in Łódź. A two-day operation involving ground crews and an airplane led us to a “chop shop.”
