Modern technologies make it possible to find missing children.

Disappearance of a child is one of the greatest tragedies a parent can encounter. hanks to the use of modern locators designed for children, every mother and father can take care of their children also outside the home.

According to the missing persons statistics reported to the ITAKA Foundation last year, more than 10 percent f all those searched for were children (people under 18). According to the National Police Headquarters, every year around 7-8 thousand minors are missing in Poland. In 2017, 6758 such cases were reported, of which 443 related to children under the age of 7, 953 – aged 7-13, and 5362 – teenagers (14-17 years old). These types of cases can be avoided if parents trust new technologies and choose the right locator for their little ones.

We don’t follow – we monitor!

Some parents are reserved about the idea of locators, fearing that their use will interfere with the privacy of children too much. However, practice and Polish law state that a child should be under the constant supervision of adults, and the issue of equipping minors with a locator should be approached properly, establishing with them the reasons and rules for monitoring their place of stay. An argument for may be, for example, a chance of an immediate reaction in the event of a threat or simply a need for contact reported by a child.

How does it work?

Thanks to the miniaturization of location modules, today every parent can equip a child, whom they want to ensure safety, with this module. The modules provide insight into the current location of the youngest, which allows you to be sure that they got, for instance, from home to school. Locators and their intelligent applications make it possible to set specific alerts or indicate geozones covered by monitoring. This means that a parent will be automatically informed that their child has left e.g. a playground or school.

The module becomes a parent’s assistant when he or she is not able to fully take care of their child and would like to know if they are safe. The device’s battery, depending on the location information preferences (information sent constantly, every few or every several minutes), allows the device to operate from a few to several days without the need to recharge.

– The devices also have a S.O.S button that can be activated by a child. It will warn a parent via the app, push message or SMS that their child is in danger. The device will send the exact location, which will allow adults to react quickly or inform the relevant services – sums up Bogdan Kwiatkowski, Sales Director at Gannet Guard Systems.
